Due to the nasty Spring snow.....it has been determined that the kids would freeze standing around waiting for their time to leave for theri Time Trial. For the strong few who brave the snow, we will be taking everyone for a group ride at Chickadee. See you then! Event: An ITT for KOM members on the group use road. This is a Try a Time Trial for the Kids cycling program Location: Group Use Road (near Chickadee Trail) Parking: Chickadee Parking Lot in Birds Hill Park. Parking on right hand side and via a short road on left hand side. Directions: Enter Bird’s Hill Park’s West entrance off Highway 59, go left on North Drive for 1½ km. Facilities: Washrooms (outdoor) are present at Chickadee KOM Registration Closes: 10:00 am KOM Race Start: 10:30 am Type of bike Required: This event is a Try a Time Trial. There are no specific bike requirements, please bring the bike your child usually uses during Kids of Mud. Race Registration form is attached if you have not filled one out yet! Contact: Moni @ 261-3348 Hosted by Alter Ego Cycling Club Note: Please keep the side of the road clear. Riders will be constantly racing by before and after your ride. What is a Time Trail? In a time trial, riders start separately at thirty or sixty second intervals and ride on their own against the clock. It is known as The Race of Truth because there is no drafting, no sprinting, no team tactics; just you and your best effort against the clock. * Helmets are mandatory * All bikes welcome. Special time trial equipment is not needed. Traditional road bikes will meet UCI guidelines. Some triathlon bikes and old school time trial specific bikes may not meet UCI guidelines and will be ranked separately. Exception: commissaires have the discretion to disallow the use of any equipment they consider unsafe.
