Registration

Training sessions typically occur twice a week, starting in mid to late April and concluding by the end of June. For children to participate in Kids of Mud rides, they should be equipped with an approved cycling-specific helmet, a mountain bike featuring hand brakes and gears, and should be able to ride without training wheels. The training curriculum with Kids of Mud encompasses various elements, including safety procedures, braking techniques, gear usage, hill riding, optional racing, navigating obstacles of different sizes, trail riding, and understanding trail etiquette.

To register for the Kids of Mud program, you need to connect with your preferred club. The registration process generally opens in late January or early February. Keep in mind that club slots tend to fill up quickly, so it’s advisable to get in touch with clubs to inquire about possible waiting lists. Additionally, apart from the individual club program fees, all KOM participants are required to obtain an annual provincial membership from their respective province. This membership not only grants access to club activities but also provides insurance coverage for those interested in participating in races. The clubs will make every effort to categorize riders based on their child’s cycling proficiency level.
